Submariner Seconds Hand Won't Move.. So my Sub (114060) is about 7 years old, worn a few days per week on average. I unscrewed the crown to wind it today and after winding 30-40 times and giving it a shake, nothing. If it is running but the seconds hand isn't moving, realistically you're just looking at the wrong hand. This is typical for people not familiar with the daytona, or chronographs in general. The large hand at 12 o'clock is the chronograph seconds hand, and only starts moving when you press the start button. That sounds absolutely normal. The crown issue is to do with the gearing, turn it in the opposite direction first and then slowly pull it out. Regarding the second hands, make sure you wind it more than 25 full turns, and the second hand will start to work
