I am plannning to source a period correct 6251H jubilee bracelet for my DJ 1601. The serial number on the watch is 3637XXX, which would mean a production date in 1972-1974, as far as I can gather.
On a 1969 1603 Datejust if I replace the original folded 6251H Jubilee bracelet with a 62510H Jubilee, will the 555 end links on the newer model fit the same (are they the same size) as the 55 end links on the original?
Your clasp blade is dated 1972 which, in my opinion, is far too late to not have the 6251H stamp. It is possible that somebody has put an earlier clasp blade (from 1964/5) into the bracelet, but there are some other concerns about the blade stamps that . Here's my 1967 5513 on my newly acquired 1969 6251h jubilee. And for good measure, my breeder/beater combo. I love the SKX013 as the beater alternative when not wearing the 5513.- Bracelet: Original folded link bracelet with 22 links, has scratches, in worn condition. Bracelet clasp stamped 6251H, outside of clasp has slight indentation/dent across width of clasp. -Timegrapher: running at -3 to -7 sec/day
Depending on the age of the watch, you probably should be looking for a 6251H bracelet with 50, 55 or 255 end links or maybe a later 62510 bracelet with 468B or 491B end links. Both of those have the larger style clasp (not concealed) and should have end links where the code is stamped on the bottom face and so is visible when the bracelet is . For Sale: Authentic Vintage 20 mm Folded Link Jubilee Bracelet for 1601/1603 This bracelet came off a 1601 model which I sold on a leather band.
